2026 Online Competition Application Photo and Video Guidelines

Photo Guidelines

Submit one (1) high-quality photo that meets all of the following requirements:

The photo must be vertical in a 9:16 format, similar to an Instagram Story or Reel.
Use good lighting so that both your face and hair are easy to see.
Do not include other people, signs, furniture, vehicles, or other distracting objects in your photo.
You must be standing upright and facing the camera.
Stand in front of a plain, uncluttered background. Solid or uniform color backgrounds are best.
Your face must be clearly visible and recognizable. Do not cover your face with your hair, sunglasses, or other objects.
You must be fully clothed.
Your entire hair length must be visible, from the top of your head to the ends.
No part of your head, hair, or hair ends may be cropped out.
Your hair must be clearly distinguishable from the background.
Do not use filters or heavily edit the photo.

Video File Format Guidelines

File format: MP4, MOV, and other standart video formats.
Aspect ratio: 9:16, vertical format video
Resolution: recommended of 1080 × 1920 pixels

Your video should be uploaded as a single file. If you need to edit multiple files together you can use an any video editing app or program. For example, Instagram's Edits app or TikTok's CapCut app.

Video Script & Structure

An ideal video is roughly one (1) to one-and-a-half (1.5) minutes long. You may submit videos up to a maximum of two-and-a-half (2.5) minutes long.

Make sure you present your video using English, in order to reach the widest possible international audience.

You are welcome to personalize your video with items like emojis, simple effects, your country’s flag, or a few short B-roll clips.

Please follow the overall structure shown in the sample video and as outlined below.

1. Hook
This is the first 3 to 5 seconds of your video. You want to grab the viewer’s attention immediately.

Show your full hair length on camera.

2. Introduction
Include:

Your name.
That you’re participating in the Las Vegas Long Hair Online Competition 2026.
A few words about yourself (profession, hobby, etc.).
Why you love long hair.
Where you currently live.
Which country you’re representing.
How long you’ve had long hair.

3. Measurements

All measurements must be reported in centimeters.
Include:

Hair length measurement (using a measuring tape).
Ponytail circumference (hair volume) measurement.
Show clearly how to measure both on camera without cuts.
- For all hair measurements, you can either do it by yourself, or you can have someone assist you on camera.
Natural Hair Check (show that you do not have extensions or weaves.)
Include:
Come closer to the camera.
Run your fingers through your hair.
Show the front, sides, and back.
Demonstrate that your hair is completely natural (no extensions or added hair).

5. Ending
Include:

Thank the viewers.
Invite them to vote for you using the official voting link in your video description.
Encourage them to follow Las Vegas Long Hair.
Say goodbye.
